Lightning Eel

Updated

Board game: Lightning Eels treat non-water hexes as obstacles. The official FAQ explains how this restricts forced movement and what happens if their water is removed.

Removing or relocating water

If the water beneath an eel disappears or moves, the eel immediately relocates to the closest water hex it can occupy. This relocation does not cause damage in Frosthaven.

If no unoccupied water hex is available, the eel stays in its current hex until it can legally move elsewhere. Do not remove the monster, damage it or create an extra water tile merely to resolve that situation.

Forced movement and planning

You cannot force an eel into non-water terrain: those hexes are obstacles for it. Editorial recommendation: identify a legal water route before selecting a push or pull as the central part of your turn.

Scenario-specific terrain definitions still matter. This page is not an exhaustive list of appearances. Read the current scenario key before assuming a visually similar hex has the same properties.

The pet guide covers a different Lightning Eel interaction. Items and scenario references address effects that can create or modify overlays.

Questions

Can I push or pull a Lightning Eel onto land?

No. The official FAQ treats non-water hexes as obstacles for the eel, so forced movement cannot put it there.

Does removal of water kill or damage it?

No. It relocates without damage to the nearest available water hex; if none is available, it remains until a legal move is possible.
