Frosthaven puzzle book

Updated

Board game: this reference supplies official first-printing checks and spoiler-folded troubleshooting for puzzle-book pages 4 and 26. It does not publish the book or its solutions.

When to open the book

You receive an explicit opening instruction along the Unfettered branch, after completing scenario 25 or 26 and resolving its later calendar entry. Do not open the book merely because a scenario becomes available.

The community dataset records calendar sections 128.2 after scenario 25 and 169.3 after scenario 26; both associated reward labels say to open the book. The hint-guide author independently describes the same delayed route. Follow your printed reward and calendar timing rather than skipping directly to the section.

Record the authorized page and pending clue in your campaign tracker. If a spread needs a missing campaign component, park it and continue eligible scenarios; this index is not permission to reveal unopened content.

Progression checklist: page and prerequisite spoilers

This is a concise materials checklist derived from the named community guide, not its cipher instructions or solutions. Main puzzles and side puzzles can have different prerequisites. A page number alone does not authorize reading ahead.

PagesMaterial or progress checkpoint
2–3Begin after the opening instruction; no separate scenario clue.
4–5Main puzzle uses the book; side puzzle needs Ancient Technology from 27 or 41.
6–7Scenario 34's clue.
8–9Main puzzle needs scenario 9 or 20; side puzzle needs no specific scenario.
10–11Main puzzle needs scenario 21; side puzzle needs scenario 33's reward.
12–13Alchemy progress, including three-herb potions.
14–15Algox branch resolution; side puzzle needs Tavern-quest completion.
16Key Card from Unfettered progress.
17The specified upgraded buildings.
18–19Physical components from the relevant final encounter.
20–21The collection progress required by the puzzle.
22–23Top Craftsman equipment access.
24–25All class boards available.
26–27Earlier section references; apply the first-printing dot correction.

Print errors, not solutions

Before looking for a final answer, check the printing correction for your page. A production error and a campaign unlock are different issues.

The FAQ's Building 74 coin-puzzle change is a separate printing difference; it does not prove every puzzle-book page changed.

Hint level 1: rule out a print defect

On page 4 or page 26 in a first-printing copy, a tiny printed mark can mislead your interpretation. Check the official correction before changing your entire theory. This is an editorial diagnostic hint derived from FAQ 1.0, not a claim about how the cipher works.

For other pages, this correction is not evidence that their marks are wrong. First check that the campaign has authorized the page and that you have followed its actual instructions.

Hint level 2: narrow the physical area

Page 4: inspect the bottom row of characters. Page 26: inspect the letter at the lowest left. The official FAQ identifies one specific defect in each area, not a general rule for ignoring dots.

Stop here if locating the area is enough. The exact print fixes are in the next level and in the independent page 4 and page 26 references.

Hint level 3: exact print corrections, not puzzle answers

Page 4: the sixth character in the bottom row is missing a dot. Page 26: the letter at the lowest left has an extra dot, which is not a clue. Apply only the correction relevant to your printing.

These are the official FAQ's production fixes. They do not supply a decoded message, final solution or an invented shortcut around a campaign prerequisite.

Request the smallest useful hint

The three levels above implement source-backed print troubleshooting, not a complete solution guide for every puzzle. For a further hint, identify the page, what the campaign has already revealed and the exact step where you are stuck.

Pages 5, 8, 16, 17, 22 and 24 do not receive empty entity pages here: page-specific methods have not been verified in the sources used for this article. That is an evidence-based publishing limit, not a claim that those pages do not matter.

Questions

Can I get the puzzle book solutions here?

No. Solutions and page scans are not hosted.

Is the extra dot on page 26 a clue?

The FAQ says it is not. It is a first-printing extra dot.
